I have been enthusiastically helping students of all ages explore the world of Music, Singing, Acting, Public Speaking and online Presentation and Performance for over twenty fun filled years.
My extensive teaching, recording and performing experience and current live performance schedule allow me to remain a fresh and relevant tutor: I am eternally learning new techniques and gaining new insights to pass on to my students.
Individuals benefit from my tailored tuition approach because although I apply a base of theory for all students, (delivered in fun and academic ways) I also allow a certain amount of direction and growth to be formed from observation and understanding of each students specific needs and strengths.
Technical skills such as reading music: notation and tablature (TAB), writing music and practical skills are a strong component of my musical teaching. Scales and arpeggios are also a strong foundation from which we work, developing full musical comprehension from the classical form, into pop, jazz and other genres.
Acting and Presentation classes are founded in decades of training ranging from 2 years at the V.C.A. School of Drama to various Workshops including N.I.D.A. and St. Martin's.
My Acting and Voice experience is extensive and enduring. My client range includes: Audible audiobooks, Mercedes Benz, Old El Paso TVC Campaigns, Liquorland,
Recitals at the end of each year give the students a chance to demonstrate some of their skills, build confidence, overcome performance nerves and become better performers and presenters.
With music, the option of training for AMEB exams of various categories: classical piano (forte), contemporary voice and singing or contemporary piano (forte) are all available but must be booked in advance so the earlier he is informed of this direction the better.
I’ve taught all ages from 4 years old to 60 years old and each of them have had fun and developed amazing skills and most were dedicated enough to gain deep musical and performance language skills and abilities.
I have a multitude of testimonies from past students and /or their parents and have references available from previous and current musical employers such as Sandringham Secondary College (14+years),
MWT institute and Alla’s school of singing.
I love my job and am looking forward to your enquiry.

FULL METHODOLOGY and GOAL BELOW:
Goal:
Enjoyable, positive, high-quality tuition and coaching with a focus on the individual and their learning needs.
Methodology:
I am trying to avoid clichés like, “music is my life” or “my deepest passion” etc. That is a given, I have dedicated myself to music and invested my years, countless thousands of dollars and so much mental physical and spiritual energy into these arts, so the below writings may seem a little academic but it’s only words, not the actual experience of course.
I will provide my students in any medium of which I teach, a fun, energised and flexible learning pathway, which will grow and shift with the development of their skills, needs and recognition of their achievements.
I will impart academic knowledge through theory, skill development through practical techniques and training, and intuitive and progressive thinking methods through the creatively individualised delivery of these above elements through my understanding of the student’s uniqueness and my extensive experience of the crafts I am tutoring.
My vast music and film/TV industry experience, coupled with my extensive experience working within the education system, weave together to give my students a holistic approach to music and other performing arts.
It’s not purely theoretical, I apply the theory and practical skills to the pathway to musical careers or deepen the personal enjoyment of music for the student for whatever their chosen musical purpose.
My teachers have taught me so much and inspired me to this path and I appreciate all they have done. But I realise that this is only a part of my learning in these arts. My time alone with the music, the script, my craft or instrument is when the learning evolves into understanding and intuition.
There are always holes in any teaching method or curriculum because everything is always evolving. I look for what can be improved in the delivery of theory. I actually get thorough enjoyment from refining ways to explain intricate and advanced musical concepts to my students in ways that they will actually understand.
I want to get past the learning stage to the PLAYING stage as quickly but diligently as possible. Isn’t that why we take up an art-form? To play… To perform… To enjoy.
We don’t ‘think’ the piano we play it. We don’t ‘think’ music we play it. We don’t ‘think’ the character or the role we play it. Let’s get through the theory and practical element as swiftly and yet still precisely as possible so we can get to the ‘playing’.
Also - I am inclusive. I appreciate all types of people and recognise them for the individuals they are. Race, religion, colour, gender and other elements are of no concern to me and I seek to empower each individual with positive feedback and supportive but realistic opinions and constructive criticism.
My students grow to become confident people in their own right, often through the mediums we work with together.
I consider myself to be their equal – we are both students who have chosen to study music or other performing arts and I see myself as someone who is able to assist their journey and equip them with more than just knowledge but inspiration and hopefully wisdom.
I am careful to word my teaching in a way that is inclusive and appreciative of all people and I would like to believe that I don’t reject or promote any one specific way of thinking so as not to offend or deny any cultural sensitivities.
The vast majority of my students, overcome shyness and imposed inadequacies and often confront their own personal fears and sometimes childhood traumas, to gain confidence and direction. The arts have this power and it is no coincidence that I have gravitated towards them so as to know myself better and to find the channels to help others know themselves and strengthen themselves.
I gain confidence to give confidence.
In teaching, I become a student – studying my student – so I can better learn how to teach them.
I learn from the student, past students, mentors, teachers and artists living and deceased and distill this knowledge, practice and intuition into my teachings for each and every one of my unique students.
It is my purpose in this life, to pass on the love of music and performing arts to others so that they can continue to share their passion and stories with however much of the world they choose. Be it their own bedroom concerts to pretend crowds or filling out Rod Laver Arena on international tours.
Their path is their decision but I’m here to help.
TESTIMONIALS:
“Milan brings heart and joy to his teaching. He’s inspiring, enthusiastic, patient and kind, and of course so skilled. My daughter has learned so much from him. He’s opened up a new world to her, and given her confidence to find her voice. Hearing her sing as she plays is the most wonderful sound. Can’t recommend Milan highly enough!"

"Milan is an experienced music and drama teacher with children and adults - so all ages. Piano, guitar, singing and performing arts. With younger children Milan helps to build confidence and trust and arms them with new skills beyond just the music tuition. The kids love the time and feel energised after. Milan is intelligent, has personality to boot and is equipped with higher emotional intelligence than most. I’m glad to find someone who ticks all the boxes!"
